    Hey, how's it going?
Hopefully tonight I'll be able to send some pics of my current ball layout. Thanks for your time and help.

If you don't mind, I would like to ask you one more question.
On sport patterns, so far, (bowling in the ABT), I've noticed how much trouble I have with spare shooting. The strike ball seems to re-act and is easier to land. I'm talking about easy spares...Like, 1-2-4, and others in the center. I roll a strike shot at them, and the ball just slides straight on by them without hooking. The only adjustment, is that I move my feet a couple of boards....

My question is, how or what is the best way to practice straight spare shooting when you don't have the same sport shot? Like, for instance, on a house shot. Will the lane condition effect the way you line up a straight shot with a plastic ball? I'm talking, dead straight. When you hear the thumb hole hitting the floor. That's the straight that I use when I roll for corner pins. The ball always "thumps" down the lane. I think I need to be able to shoot straight at spares, no matter where they are, to ensure I get them. Am I on the right line of thinking?

Vince Thank you for your advice, Yes I will be there for the practice. I like heavy oil but I have never bowled on the scorpion pattern. I just hope I get the 2pm squad on saturday so I can try and get the double jump stuff down before I bowl.

I do have a plastic ball, but I am not used to shooting spares on the left side by throwing straight at them since I really don't have to do that on a THS. The main thing that killed me spare wise though were the ones that you can throw a strike ball at, not the single pin spares. Things you need to hook at like 3-6-9-10, and leaves that involved the head pin were mainly what I missed, along with 2-10's and 2-4-10's from throwing wide on my strike ball, and a 6-10 that I chopped the 6 off of. I didn't leave a whole lot on the left side really... and I made most of the stuff on the left, but I still need to get used to throwing straight at them anyway.

Good advice, only dropping a few ounces instead of an entire pound. I will have to eat some crow with my ball driller if I do this.... Hate that :) !!

Thanks so much for your time and information. Do you also have to sand down ex. go from 2000-> 1000->800->500

or could I just go right to the 500 and only go up the chain when polishing up?

How much surfacing should be done before it's time for a new ball? How much play should the aspirering pro do to my bowling balls befor I should just start with a new one?

Thanks again for your time and consideration.

Is that true about different drillings for a house shot and a PBA shot???
I only go to one guy for equipment/drilling.
But, I bowl as many places as I possibly can. I'm a member of the ABT and I bowl in any and every tournament I can make it to and hear about from others...House tournaments, state tourn., doesn't matter...Sign me up! LOL. Even as far as 70 miles away.

I think I'll ask my pro shop guy about getting a new ball for my PBA exp. league.

    Track makes awesome balls!!!
I currently have 3. So far, I making money with 'em.

I have no idea. My proshop guy drills all my balls for me and he does not give out my measurements. Whatever he does though, he does it well!!! :)
